Q. Do you hire our employees?

A. Vanguard will interview any applicant that meets our criteria requirements and passes our testing.  At your request, that individual can be assigned to your location.  We make an assertive effort to reward our personnel for a job well done – the competent security personnel that you recommend for positions with Vanguard will receive our utmost consideration.       


Q. Do we pay overtime to your employees?

A. Any overtime that our employees’ work is paid by Vanguard – it is not charged to the client.  Only holiday [six (6) per year] are charged to the client.


Q. What happens if someone who is assigned to my location fails to show up for work?

A. Vanguard has road supervisors that will be assigned to your location.  Vanguard also cross-trains additional security personnel to be familiar with your site.  All officers must call our Computer Assisted Recording Time System (CARTS) at the beginning and end of their shifts.  If someone fails to show up for work, which is quickly recognized by the CARTS system, then the road supervisor will be dispatched to that location and will fulfill the responsibilities of the security officer until a cross-trained officer arrives.


Q. Do your officers sign a time sheet?

A. No.  Our officers complete a daily log of their activities, etc. that is turned in daily to the client.  The officer’s time is recorded through our computerized time recording system.  All officers must call the system at the beginning and end of their shift from a designated phone at the site.  If an officer is late for a shift, our dispatch personnel are notified within minutes of the tardiness by the system.


Q. Can we review the credentials and background of the officers that will be servicing our account?

A. Yes.  The employee personnel file and background of the officer is available to the client.


Q. Do officers pay for their uniforms?

A. All uniforms and equipment needed by our officers are provided at no charge to them.


Q. If I am not happy with a security officer that has been assigned to my site, can I request a replacement?

A. Yes.  It is our intent to provide a trained officer to your site with whom you are satisfied.  Please let us know as soon as possible if you are less than satisfied with our selection and we will immediately make a change of personnel.
